Well we haven't done this in a while, so we are overdue. Got anything
new you are listening to?
I somewhat recently picked up The Wet Tones "Mucho Reverbo", I think I
mentioned this...very good trad sounding stuff. Jag tone and reverb to
the max. And also The 50 Foot Combo's "Go Hunting", also very good.
The 50 footers have a unique sound, I think they must have an extra
percussion player...it adds a lot. They have a very garagey sound and
some songs feature some sick fuzz.
The new live Slacktone is really awesome.
I've also been listening to a lot of old 60's surf. Great stuff; good
to go back to the beginning.
Still listening to The Treble Spankers and The Beat Tornados to get
the Euro/Scando take on surf... (so did we decide that Norway is in
Europe or Scandinavia?? <ducking under desk>)
And I was VERY LUCKY and scored a copy of John & The Nightriders
"Banished To The Beach" compilation of 80's stuff on CD. AWESOME!
And, all the talk about the Ghastly Ones and Satan's Pilgrims has me
going back to these perennial favorites.
I still like the new Bitch Boys "Ride The First Wave".
Anyway, I am itching to pick up something new and was fishing for
ideas....so, whaddya got?
