Oh yes, Ran,
I am a major campaigner that live music is better. You'll actually get arguments
on that statement by some folks who complain about bad sound-systems and/or
soundmen and/or bad sounding rooms etc...but it is just impossible to get a
recording that represents the impact of a live performance. In clubs with a bad
sound setup, I like to stand right up close the the band so that the sound
system is not an issue.

Hey Marty,
I agree with you about the steep price, but you were joking when you
mentioned you could by the albums instead, right?
It was only after seeing surf bands live that I realized how different can
that experience be from just listening to the albums.
Living in So-Cal only makes the difference more noticeable, as now I'm able
to see a lot of the bands I only heard on recordings.
Anyway, I 'll try to see if I can pull this crazy travel plan, but it seems
the steep incerase it ticket prices would foil my plan.

don't care if it's Slacktone, that's purdy high. You could buy all the SP
rare recordings on Ebay for that price. You could buy a guitar for that
price and learn all their songs. And if the SP's reformation is a success,
I'm guessing they will end up down here before long. The Surfcoasters made
it from Japan...Hey Ferenc, you ol' scene-maker you....
