Re: [SurfGuitar101] Rust on frets

Mark W. Kramer (el_capitan_kosmo) - 05 Apr 2005 09:59:12

Hey Shawn, like Joe said, use some superfine steel wool, but becareful of the
fretboard, and cover your pu's with some tape.
Hope this helps.
Take care,

Hey all,
I just got in an SGV800 and it looks as though whoever had it had very
sweaty hands and hadn't changed the strings in ages (it obviously
hadn't been played for a long time). There is some very light surface
rust on the frets. Is there any easy way to remove it without
damaging the frets, or to stop it from spreading? I know nothing
about guitar maintenance so be gentle :-)
