Hi Folks,
I wanted to hear some advice regarding booking flights. And excuse me if
it's not directly related to surf music. Here's my dilemma:
I have a previous engagement to play on June 4th at the Casbah in San Diego.
So, as much as I'd love to see Satan's Pilgrims in their home town, it's not
gonna happen (getting booked in the Casbah on a Sat night is not something
to take lightly). So, I decide I'm gonna go crazy - take Friday the 3rd off
work, fly to Seattle, see SP play and then take a flight back to San Diego
on Sat morning. A couple of weeks ago I checked flight prices online and saw
it was about $185 which wasn't terrible, but not cheap. I hadn't booked
then, but decided to go ahead and do it in advance today. I was shocked to
see the prices jumped to around $245 just for the flight. I tried
priceline.com but the "name your price" option doesn't allow you to know you
flight times (meanning I can miss the SP gig and/or the gig I have to play
back in SD). There's also no refunds, so I had to give up that idea. I'm
going to try the travel agent tomorrow as a last resort...but since I know
some of you are planning to fly to the gigs, I wanted to ask if anyone has
knowledge of a way to get a more reasonable priced flight. Do you think I
should wait for the last moment to get a "last minute deal"?
I'm getting a little frustrated by this. I'm willing to spend money to see
one of my favorite bands, but I'm not on an unlimited budget.
Any advice?
Thanks
Ran
