Re: [SurfGuitar101] Re: Which Fender guitar?

Dan,
I agree with Dave on this one, but it all depends. If you go with a strat (I
just recently made that choice myself) there are a ton of choices. So many
strat models... too little time. I have had a few over the years and always
loved the sound, just could not get passed the cheap feel. I just recently
picked up an american deluxe strat maple FB (rosewood is nice too, but it
tends to shrink and you will feel the fret wire along the edges of the neck)
.. cheap feel problem solved and the sound of the new fender pickups is bang
on classic "BELL TONE" (i never cared for the lace pickups). the neck is
rounded for a warn in feel out of the box, and they even rounded the back
side neck joint corner, locking tuners and so on... best strat made to date
for playability IMHO...
Lewd
FYI I have been a mosrite and Gibson player all my life so this is the first
fender I have accepted as a legitimate child... :-)

Strat will give you more options. Look at any manufaturer selling
pickups. More Strat options than any other platform. (sounds like a
windows salespitch, eh?)
More neck options, more tremelos, etc, etc, etc...
Can't go wrong with a strat.
When my son and I went to Dallas for that Clapton guitar festival
last summer there were all kinds of playing styles represented for 2
days. I bet 85%+ of the electric performers used strats.
Course we have 3 of em so I'm totally biased.

so I have an all around guitar for all styles? Thoughts?
