What about a baritone?

I'm thinking about adding a baritone to my guitar collection,
envisioning the sound possibilities in the realm of the
surfabilly/surfadelic music that I'm wanting to create. In my mind,
especially when pondering guitar driven surfabilly creations, I'm
thinking that a baritone will add quite a bit of punch, more so than
simply plugging a guitar into a bass amp.
Thoughts, or suggestions?
