Flats might sound thuddy on a P-Bass, but on a two pick-up bass like the Jazz or
P-Bass Special, the bridge pick-up brings highs and clarity to the sound.

You really need to play the rounds long enough to
deaden them, then they start to sound good. And by
dead I mean completely filth encrusted from your
dirty, sweaty fingers. That way you don't have all
that zinginess or brightness that comes from new
rounds but they're not quite as thuddy and old school
sounding as flats.
