I just bought a Squier (I know don't laugh) Jazz bass for cheap ($209 in
Musician's Friend includign tax and shipping) and put new pick ups (Fender
Custom Shop '63 Jazz Re-issue) in for another $100 and it sounds like a
champ.
Not a bad way to go for a little dough.
