I just checked this using your Clapton example, Dave. It actually does search
the entire data base for occurances of "Clapton". It looks like the first time
Clapton appeared on this list was a mention from Ivan in April of 2002. It
doesn't display all the results at once. I hit the "next" button a few times.

Subject: [SurfGuitar101] Re: Search feature really blows
Ny only problem with the whole format has been with the search
itself. I tried to search for "Clapton" to see if any of you guys
had gone to that Clapton guitar festival in Texas last summer only
to find out I was only searching the last couple of hundred entries.
THAT was annoying. But I can search on Google, if I really need to.
I don't know if that's grounds for changing the whole site.
Particularly, if there's a trade off with files, etc.
Also, what about people who only come so often, what are you gonna
do? Post a sign saying moved to a new address?
It isn't BROKE ENOUGH to fix.
Dave
