One facet of surf music that has always appealed to me is
its "alive-ness". Current surf musicians are deliberately
choosing to resurect a supposedly "dead" form of electric
music. It moves, changes, grows and adapts to it's new
21st centurty surroundings. Surf struggles to preserve its
identity, yet like any living organism, it inevitably
evolves.
I absolutely appreciate statements like the one above by
the Beat Tornados: surf music is definitely not some sort
of "retro" museum form of music...it is alive and viable
and NOW! music...I'm 100% sure of that fact.
