Sad news from The Ventures website. Founding member Bob Bogle passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009. At least we'll always be able to cherish the great music that Bob made with The Ventures. Here is a clip of "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" from the Beloved Invaders film (1965). Thank you for the years of fantastic music Bob!

I am so sad about this I couldn't even really think of words to say about this passing.I simply just went and played some Ventures records for about seven hours and here I am. Still sad about Bob's passing, but I know he had one hell of a time while he was here with us.You'll be missed Bob!
The Ventures were why I got interested in instro music in the first place. We'll miss you, Bob!
though not my Favorite band,
I am aware how influential they were.
and Bob seemed to be a really nice guy.
this is truly a loss.
The Ventures were like The Beatles a tight knit group of musicians as professional sounding as any group could sound . Both groups influenced my guitar learning years.
