So I just got this thing a week ago and as rad as it is, I just really can't see myself using at as a main guitar.
The guitar is all original, with the exception of the switches which needed to be replaced in order for the guitar to actually work and the pickguard screws.
Also, it should be noted that the nut isn't glued down and is fine, but will need replacing soon.
So having said that all I'm really looking for is to trade it for a vintage or RI(depending on which one it is) Reverb unit, also it has to be either blackface or blonde/oxblood.

I've posted it on craigslist for a trade or $750 and I've gotten a few emails, but I'd rather it goes to one of you guys.

So if you're interested let me know and we'll see what we can work out.

Duo-Sonics are very underrated due to the unfortunate "student guitar" stigma. They are excellent rhythm guitars.

Is the one for sale a L-series? I don't see the big "F" on the neckplate, but the pic is a bit out of focus. If so, that is a very fair price for a pre-CBS Duo.

I'm not familiar with the series of these guitar, but the neck is stamped April 1965 if that's any help.
As far as the price goes, that's just if anyone wants to buy it, I'm really just looking to trade for a Blonde/Oxblood Reverb Unit, vintage or RI(depending on the unit).

But if you can let me know how to figure out what series it is, I'll definitely confirm what it is and hopefully take some better pictures on Friday.

Thanks for the response.

April '65 is an L-series. If yours has the original neckplate, it should have a a serial # that starts with a "L". Many of the less collectible old Fenders are missing their original neckplates, as the pre-CBS era plates can bring $150 or more on ebay.

Serial on the neckplate is "L78877."
Like I said, this thing is seriously original, when we took off the pickguard, it was literally the first time it hadn't been on since before it was installed in the factory.

I have a couple of "L" series Mustangs and have to agree. They make great rhythm guitars. Plus they have a cool out-of-phase sound option. Generally not enough punch and sustain for lead but can sound OK there too.
