I've just post a vid' on youtube: "how to play Surf Guitar" of course i can't pick like DD and the sound is from a shitty amp (Marshall MS-2, the neighbours can't complain!)) but at least, i try something... here's the link

it would be cool to have some feeback (ahem...even negative feedback, don't be too rude! )
Aloha from France!

The Meteors remark is right out of the peanut gallery.

You might want to explain what you are doing. How do you make your techniques work for you, and try to make it clearly what you are doing, the guitar isn't that visible, it is in the lower third of the screen, so shoot a couple different angles with more of your left hand, sort of like you did for the double picking.
Also, this video is too brief. You cover 4-5 topics in 2:38. Each technique should be longer than that.

thanx Jake, i think i'll try in september in our studio and on a decent amp. It's more an approach of the style, and yeah i'll buy a camera too! Fred.

Thanx for the feedback, actually i agree with you, the sound was awful, i made an other vid' in the style of Marco Pirroni (adam and the ants) who borrowed heavily from Link Wray, Ennio Morricone and Duane Edddy for his guitar style, i recorded the parts with different sounds on my eight track recording instead of the cheap ms-2 with the digital delay, i'll probably give it a try to the Surg Guitar Lesson too... and, i'm dying to see your video!!! cheers! here is the link for the ant guitar lesson:

Let yer freak flag fly! I play surf on a Paul Reed Smith and have for almost 15 years. Most people will tell you that humbuckers have no place in surf, but I beg to differ.
