I dont know either, but I got one by chance and when it wasnt the right kind I pulled the springs out and put them into the Accutronics. Its as drippy as they get. —The Exotic Guitar of Kahuna Kawentzmann You can get the boy out of the Keynes era, but you can’t get the Keynes era out of the boy. |

The fender ones are stamped F on the inside of the tank. Even the fender pans all sound diffrent. finding the killer pan is like finding a needle in a hay stack. —Give me reverb or give me death! |

I finally got my old reverb unit from 1966!!! But now I am faced with another problem. The old reverb unit is humming a lot. Sounds like a ground thing, but everything is connected. What do you think it maybe? The Old Tank(1966) and the my Reissue(1997) sound nearly the same with the new Gibbs/Accutronics-Pan. So I can't decide which one I should sell. http://www.reverbnation.com/bangmustang |

is it really that much of a difference??i have an old Hammond Tank that wasn't that great when i put it on my reverb unit, but maybe i can still use the springs on my accutronics one. is this recommended? i thought the part where the springs are hooked on to was the one that made the unit sound better? any experts on this? —-Zanti Instagram: |

Zanti try it - carefully - and report back what happens. If the springs make a big difference I can supply quite a few pairs. One thing I learned is that all 4 springs, which consist of 2 pairs of 2 shorter springs coupled together, are all of different lengths. This is by design, which I believe is to avoid creating resonance which is sort of like a feedback. —Danny Snyder I am now playing trumpet with Prince Buster tribute band 'Balzac' Playing keys and guitar with Combo Tezeta Formerly a guitarist in The TomorrowMen and Meshugga Beach Party Latest surf project - Now That's What I Call SURF |

I have an old gibbs F pan, I used on the first 6g15 reverb unit I built, and it sounds really great, on the second one I just finished, I used a brand new accutronics 4ab3c1b, and to my ears it sounds just as good as the gibbs. The only difference is that the accutronics has a slightly higher pitched drip. I think Danny once posted, that it really is all about having the correct impedance on the input and output. |
