Never seen this footage before. Coming to think of it, I've never seen any 60's footage of the Surfaris at all.

Always liked their version of "Hot Rod High" although the Knights did it best in my opinion.

Very cool! And I never knew that Steve Marriott was in the Surfaris...

I'm always amased at way of performance such type of videos... They play and sing so sincerely though they have no mics and guitars ain't plug in! A lot of nowadays band seem on the stage as making job tired people, no fun at all-(

Great! I prefer the faster version that the Surfaris did. Can't complain though!
I didn't know the Surfaris had two versions? Or did you just mean faster than the Knights? It appears as the Super Stocks did the fastest of the ones I've heard.

C'mon folks, it's not every day you get to see Ron Wilson in action!

yes Nice video,
just sad that they were lip syncing to the record.
I always hated seeing that on old tv shows.

If my ear does not deceive me, the audio from this performance is yet ANOTHER version of this tune from that I was unaware of. It is not the version you'll find on Surfaris material as far as I know from my collection. VERY cool find!

Since it was also released as a single, maybe the slower version is the 45 and the faster one is the more common album version.

Here's another song from the same show - "Don't Hurt My Little Sister" originally done by the Beach Boys.

Both clips are great! I seriously doubt any of the Surfaris but Ron Wilson actually sang on either track, but I could be wrong. I read somewhere that Ron Wilson would go to the studio and sing for Gary Usher and his productions, while the rest of the band went to high school, or in the case of Jim Fuller, ditched and got into all sorts of trouble with Dennis Wilson.

Yeah, most likely it's Gary Usher and his studio crew providing the additional vocals.
Anyone ever seen any 60's TV show footage of the Surfaris doing "Wipe Out"? Considering the big hit it was, one thinks something should exist.
