The Intoxicators are awsome. Great guys to hang out with too. Fez, the drummer, talked me in to joining this forum and I'm glad I did. Check out their CD. I never get tired of listening to it. The song Gary 2 is my favorite. |

Excellent!!! Love it! The lead guitarist can really rip - and the rhythm guitarist looks like he was just teleported out of 1963. BTW, Freddie really did a great job with the videos - check them all out, they're all worth it, some great surf music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88xZwGt10ek&feature=channel A non-Freddie video from the same show: Ivan |

I dug these videos so much that I just purchased the two CDs available on their site. I don't know how these guys managed to stay under my radar for this long, but this is really cool stuff. Check out some tracks on their MySpace page. —Ivan |

Unsteady Freddy takes some brilliant footage, never afraid to get right in the action. I asked him what cam he used and got a message right back.. Canon Powershot SD870IS thx for diggin' it Wow that's just a little digital pocket camera! |

that is truly a 'magic camera' not only is it versatile with the photography it filters the sounds amazingly by way of example check out my DICK DALE videos in the http://www.youtube.com/unsteadyfreddie page as we all know, he plays very very loud, yet my camera handled the performances beautifully I didn't have much light to work with for THE INTOXICATORS!, kept encouraging the guys to 'stay in the light' (sounds like POLTERGEIST!) plus there was ZERO room for me to move; I guess this is a good use of my long arms!! I try to shoot the videos so people can feel like they are 'in the thick of it'; also, it's like I am trying to use the camera as my eyes, darting about I am thrilled with the videos I have been getting speaking of the HUKILAU, the video I shot of LOS STRAITJACKETS performing ITCHY CHICKEN is killer!! as are the 2 SURF MEDLEYS performed by the HAOLE KATS thanks for the nice comments UNSTEADY FREDDIE — |

Thanks for shooting the videos of us at Hukilau Unsteady Freddie... they did turn out quite nicely... especially since you only had about a foot of space between you and the band... Nice Job Freddie's camera is a Canon Powershot... not sure of the model... It's similar to my SD770-IS but has a slightly bigger screen... takes great video though... |

That's good stuff! Love the guitar player's tone with HBs in the Jag. Very cool raspy sound. —Ryan |

Very cool! But did the Intoxicators really 'form' the Hukilau? —Paul |

The Intoxicators! did not form The Hukilau... The promoter for Hukilau (Christie White) was one of 8 people that caught a show of ours at The Echo Lounge in Atlanta back in 2004... booked us for Hukilau in 2005, and every year since... I started helping out with the event last year... mostly making sure that the people that are playing have the gear that they need... and that there are lights on the go-go dancers... I suggest to everyone that they should go to Hukilau... if nothing more to see the greatest tiki establishment that i have ever been to... The Mai Kai |

FYI, I edited the title of this thread a few hours ago. It used to say "Intoxicators form Hukilau". Sorry for the confusion. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

I got this CD yesterday (Journey to the Center of the Earth). After a couple of spins, I'm enjoying it quite a bit. "Gary 2" is indeed one of the better songs on there - it reminds me of Satan's Pilgrims (or even Stan's Pilgrims ). Cool stuff. Their new CD/EP (I Dreamed the Best Part) should be arriving today, and I'm really looking forward to that one. —Ivan |
