I really want to see the part where he hits the dude with his Baseball bat. Here's one of the movie posters...

And inglorious, but for some reason, that's the way they are spelling it.
I heard it was a big Tarantino comic-book revenge fantasy, and the sound track has some Spaghetti Western touches to it.

Spaghetti Western soundtrack?!?! I'll be looking forward to that. For those of you who don't already know, this is the plot summary...
During World War II a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers.
I think it's spelled "Inglourious Basterds" because there's a 1978 Italian movie with the same title. It's spelled "Inglorious Bastards". This is not a remake of the 1978 film. But anyways "Inglourious Basterds" is supposed to be release August 21st. And I believe it will be part 1 of 2 films. I can't wait to see it...

The script was leaked onto the internet last summer and I couldn't resist reading it. It was a great read and the movie is going to be awesome. He basically rewrites WWII history in a fantastical way.
Yes, that's the first time I've ever used the word "fantastical".

Tarantino should have called Meshugga Beach Party, it would have been perfect.

Say What!!!! Where did you read that? Tarantino has been writing this for the past 10 years. He started writing it after "Jackie Brown". I can't wait to see it. Danny, MBP would have been perfect for that soundtrack.

The leaked version was the final draft dated July 2, 2008, hand scribbled cover page included. I'm afraid that if I told you where, some thugs from the Weinstein Corp. would find me and throw me off a 4 story building.

I just saw IBs last night... actually an hour after I posted on the Shout box. I really liked it and didn't mind the subtitles Jeff hehe. I'll share my comments about the movie when I have more time, but for now... What did you guys think about it? Please discuss.....
PS Ferenc there wher some songs on ther that I didn't really like either. I mostly dug the score music.

Subtitles-- didn't bother me at all, I always hate when you the enemy speaking perfect English, or worse, with a bad accent. Tarantino uses the language barrier in many ways- for suspense, surprise, terror, comedy. It's like a whole new angle for filmaking- Genius!
The Soundtrack-- Tarantino's pop culture basis has largely left his screen writing, but shows up immaturely in the soundtracks.
A- He can work afford to work with anybody in the world, why recycle old music? In the good ole days, movies created hit songs.
B- Spaghetti western themes in an interior shot of a French country home? distracting and inappropriate. Bowie's "Cat People" (granted it was the cooler soundtrack version, not the lame SRV take) in a period specific French film theater? There are worse examples

Well, why not? He used German, French and Italian actors to make the language authentic.

I saw it last Sunday...thoroughly enjoyed it.
Maybe I'm weird, but I thought the soundtrack was pretty cool.

I guess I'm not a true film fanatic,
I thought most of the music was great.
yes its kinda weird to use old music again,
but if it fits the feel hes going for,
and he likes it, its his call,
I always dig hearing spaghetti western music,
even if its not in the proper context,
amazing film.
not even'
was I entertained,
thoroughly

I havent seen it. But I think a director with a name like his, he should come to have a proper composer create a score for one of his movies. Stitching together pieces he found in his lifetime is not the same as using a profound knowledge of everything that music can be and do inside and out and tailor the notes onto the action. Hed have to acknowledge somebody elses expertise, I dont know if hes able to.
