i like to have a small amp for campingtrips. it has to fit in my campingbus. microcubes and vox da5 are too small. i did not like the vox ad 30. so what do you guys think of a cube 30? does it have enough power to play surf duo-shows in small bars and clubs in skiresorts and along the european coast? they are on sale now!

The Deluxe Reverb is a small amp. Fender Blues Junior is as well but that isn't going to play surf due to the fact its going to break up on you.
I don't think anybody here would play surf with the amp you mentioned if they had to. I really don't know anything about it besides for the fact that it is Roland and I'm guessing it isn't tube.

dude, the Roland microcube rocks for a small BATTERY-POWERED amp...
I'm really digging mine...took it to the coffeehouse last week and played open-air Jazzmaster with cafe au lait for about 2 hours...built in reverb efffects aren't too bad...

I agree with dp. I tried one of these out at a music shop recently. The little battery powered Roland cube has an amazing sound considering its tiny size. It's got reverb too. It's not dull and flat sounding like a lot of little amps are.
In my circle of friends Roland amps have a good reputation. One's got a nice Roland bass amp and another had a Jazz Chorus that fell out of the back of a moving pickup truck and continued to work fine. He regrets having sold it.
I've got a Vox AC15 valtronix which has nice features and tone and is plenty loud, but I've had some reliablilty issues with it.

Buy a Micro Cube! $125.00 at most places. Mine runs forever on batteries and sounds great. Built in effects are very okay for the price. Portable as h#ll.

I've used Cubes in the studio, and they sound great.
The Vox DA-5 isn't a bad choice, and might even be a better one for the surf guitarist in need of a battery-powered amp being that it has 5 different reverb settings....it has stand-alone reverb, but also has presets that include reverb w/ chorus, reverb w/ trem, and reverb w/rotary...has several delays as well.

i was thinking back and forth....
the da 5 is pretty nice and its already payed. naybe i get a microcube for vocals or stereo. and nothing beats my fender "30" tubeamp with 2x10" speakers.
