Line 6 Pocket Pod and a pair of Sony MDR-XD200 headphones.
I never play in public, I'm not in any band, and most of my playing is late at night, so a headphone amp is all I need.

I lean pretty heavily toward a DRRI with JJ's tubes and a Weber California. Occasionally I'll get out the Reverb Unit, but for regular practice I just use the amp's built in reverb anywhere between 3 to 7. For early practice on a song I'll use Guitar Pro -> Sound Card -> Dennon Receiver -> Polk Audio RT55i. For later practice I'll play an MP3 -> Sony Acid Music Studio -> Dennon -> Polks. Both software packages allow me to highlight and replay sections of a song using slower BPMs and speed up as I learn. I have a 1,500 sq. ft. house all to myself so I don't have to be quiet and I can practice any time of the day or night. I've never had the police knock on the door. That being said, I use the quieter input on the Deluxe Reverb with the volume around 3 most of the time. —Cats 'n' Strats, 'cause that's how I roll - I eat reverb for breakfast! I've never heard a "proper" surf setup live, with a real amp and tank, so I guess it's okay. It has two varieties of reverb, "Room" and "Spring". Plus a ton of other effects and settings - chorus, delay, echo, drive, bass/mid/treble controls, vibrato, a bunch of amp and cabinet models (can't comment on them, due to ignorance), compressor, fuzz, a Leslie speaker simulation, phlanging (I think) and "dis, dat, and de udder ting". It has a USB port so you can fiddle with settings on the computer in real time (using the free Vyzex software), save them on your hard drive, and then upload the custom presets back to the Pod. You also can email presets to friends and so on. Oh yeah - it has a tuner function. I wouldn't trust the case just throwing it in a gig bag. —I'm not a complete idiot. Some parts are missing. |

Usually I use my BF showman w/ 15" tonering cab. But lately, due to my heads needing some work, I started using my DRRI plugged into a 4-12 Behringer. Sometimes it's nice to do something different...especially since the DRRI has a JBL E-120. Totally different sound. Bob |

I just recently picked up an older model Peavey Classic 30 and must say that it's been more than impressive. It was a deal that fell into my lap and saying no wasn't an option, no matter how bad it could've sounded. Honestly, I didn't even expect the thing to work. Lo and behold, not only was it in perfect working condition, but it has a really nice, warm, full tube sound--very satisfying for practicing. It should also be mentioned that the onboard 'verb is actually pretty darn good! When cranked, it does produce a bit of a drip! It's funny, the previous owner relic'd the outside to look more like an old 50's tweed (complete with cigarette burns) and even replaced the Peavey logo on the front with a flat Fender logo. Also, when not in use, my tank fits on top nice n' flush, almost like a piggy-back head, which is an ideal space-saver for our tiny beach bungalow. Highly recommended! —Insect Surfers |

Korg Pandora PD5. It has an aux in for Ipod,1/4 inch in and out for headphones or cable out to a power amp. It is as bg as a cassette tape case (yeah I am that old) and I keep it in my gig bag in case my amp craps out and I have to go DI. |

I recently bought a Fender G-Dec3-15 when they went on sale. I'm able to do a lot of different things with it. I'm not very knowledgeable so I have lots of learning but it appears that I will only be limited by my skills. I have other amps but at 15 watts, this amp is very good. |
