You're not forgotten by me, John! Seriously, if you wish to share your tab with anybody here at all, it's perfectly OK with me (though I didn't write Red Sunrise, so I'm not sure I can give permission for that?).

(I should mention that I've been contacted by a fair number of young people through the years that dug my music, but like you said, they all eventually move on to something else. Well, it's hard to justify sticking with surf music as I young musician, I totally get it. It's just for the lunatics like all of us here!)

I'm back people, haha I'm now coming into my final year and a bit of high school and trust me surf music has definitely not left me... I've made lead guitar for my schools main jazz band and head guitarist for the school and it's all thanks to surf music and some help from you guys (Ivan and John). Now I'm back here I may as well say Sorry for being a demanding, bratty 12 year old. Hahaha it's kind of embarrassing but anyway I've decided for my final solo piece at high school that I want to do a surf track (must be 3-4 minutes long) for old times sake, any suggestions? haha cheers all!

Cj 'Radical' Wilson !

Welcome back CJ, why not do an Atlantics song, as they are the biggest surf band from Australia. And, they're still around.

"With great reverb comes great responsibility" - Uncle Leo

I am now playing trumpet with Prince Buster tribute band 'Balzac'

Playing keys and guitar with Combo Tezeta

Formerly a guitarist in The TomorrowMen and Meshugga Beach Party

Latest surf project - Now That's What I Call SURF

If you do end up doing an Atlantics song then Bombora has to be the obvious choice. You know, since it was on Never Mind the Bolsheviks.

Hey CJ,
I sent you 3 or 4 tabs a few years back, then heard nothing. I remember "Solarus Stomp" was one of them - "Escape from Gulag" another. You didn't do something really careless and irresponsible and delete them, did you?

Haha I haven't used that email in years! I will definitely go searching for those email exchanges though.. I'm now playing a Fender Jazzmaster, 2004 Japanese remake in olympic white, beautiful guitar, thanks for the welcome back as well, I love The Atlantics.. unfortunately I did Bombora last year as my assessed solo performance and we aren't allowed to repeat :/ but I will go searching through those emails John and I will also look at other Atlantics songs and see what I can find, I've also been able to contact Atlantics guitarist, Martin in previous years so I could possibly see what he could do for me, I guess we'll find out! Thanks again all Smile

Sorry to bring back this old thread!

Ivan, your guitar work on Transatlantic Orbit is mind blowing! You know how they say a great paint job on a vehicle is a mile deep? Your guitar sound is a mile deep!

My second favorite is Solaris Stomp.

Anyway, I was looking for tabs on those 2 songs and it brought me here. If anyone has these tabs and Ivan is cool with it, can I get them?

Thanks, Michael

No apologies necessary whatsoever, Michael! That's what the old threads are for.

Wow! Never heard it put that way, but that's very cool - thank you VERY MUCH!!

My second favorite is Solaris Stomp.

Thank you very kindly yet again, Michael. That was actually the first original song that we recorded - and we had just played with the Fathoms, so I decided to try to make the song sound like them - so, no echo, played my (newly purchased) Jazzmaster, and turned the reverb up and did a lot of palm muting!

Absolutely! I'm completely OK with people sharing the tabs. I'd do them myself, but time is short, and it's not something I really enjoy. But I probably will do it eventually.

Good luck, Michael, and thanks again!

Thanks for the reply so quick! I see you are in southern MI. I live in Holland, MI. Would be great if you guys could play a show in GR or surrounding area!

I see The Madeira is playing in Indy June 14th. I'm definitely going to that show!

Holland! What a beautiful place! We were just talking about it last night with our friends, who visited there twice in the past month. My wife and I usually go to South Haven at some point in the summer.

Would be great if you guys could play a show in GR or surrounding area!

Well, we're working on a GR show for September 5th, so stay tuned!

Great!! It's gonna be a great one - you won't regret it! We're joined by two amazing surf bands, and it'll be chock full of surf music fans. Please come introduce yourself, too! See you in two weeks!
