That's sad, i thought they were unstoppable.
I've seen them a few times in the late 70s, they hit you with such force right from the start and every number after just went up another gear.

Uhh, lucky you. Anyway, when you see that this was in 1977.... Punk should sounded like this.

Yes it was in the Farnham Maltings in '77 and The Marquee club london '78/79 ish. I think i've seen them once more but i can't remember, i get told off if i speak too much punk days. Smile
Considering the Pirates were kinda old school teddys, they fitted in perfectly with the punk scene at the time, they'd blow Dr. Feelgood or anyone else off stage though.
They had such strong stage presence, totally and utterly confident, once you heard Johnny Spence shout "All Aboard" then no one would be leaving the room.. the roller coaster had begun.
It didn't matter how self conscious you were, your arms and legs would move to the rhythm uncontrollably.
You were in their power - resistance is (or was) futile!

I only remember their 7" back at the time. I remember it sounded just like this video. Anyway, speaking of Dr. Feelgood, I saw Wilco Johnson at Kennington Oval in 1990. Great show. I remember he wore leather shirt the same color as his telecaster.

The Feelgoods always seemed to play on the east side of London. (I'm 40 miles west) by the time i realised how good they were, Wilco had been replaced by John Mayo.
Sorry to say i haven't been a Wilco fan until very recently but i'm glad you enjoyed his London concert. Maybe you will come back one day!
