didn't Dick Dale do Grudge Run?
one of my fave vocals by him.

on that one, it would be a race for bragging rites.
and/or sometimes for pink slips(aka title /ownership of a car)

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Example: "This thread is giving me the runs".

Be careful following the masses. Sometimes the "M" is silent...........................

your supposed to read it, not eat it, son.

So "Malibu Run" is about riding to Malibu to go surfing and "Death Valley Run" (a favorite of mine) is about driving out to Death Valley to ride Hondas in the desert.

"Death Valley Run" gives me images of Russ Meyer's Motorpsycho.

(defunct) Thee Jaguar Sharks

Plus! Other stuff not surf: https://soundcloud.com/jamesmileshq
Enjoy every minute

Dick Dale's "A Run for Life". See also "The Wedge".

Oh, quit cogitating, Steinmetz, and use an open-faced club. The sand wedge!

good thing it wasn't a Run for the bathroom.

maybe somebody gave him a Wedgy, and that solved that problem.

Maybe they did it instinctively? But, I'm pretty sure the old guys writing some of these songs today are thinking a little, and I'm not sure the composer of Chicky Run was a teenager, and though the band itself averaged 15 the front line had been playing piano for about 10 years.

Chicky Run-as in the New Dimensions song? last i checked, Michael Lloyd wrote that song, and he was 14 or 15 when it was written.

... how does Run Chicken Run fit into your theoretical framework?

OK, chickie run: "Coined in America in the 1950s, the term "chickie run" (alternatively called a "chickie race" or less frequently, a "chicken run") refers to an extremely dangerous and foolhardy game that combines the defining aspects of drag racing and chicken." So, my mistake there.

Anyway, I'm not sure if Run Chicken Run is the right kind of chicken or run. It might be. Sort of a double ended tender. Not the right chord progression however. I do appreciate the suggestion.

I thought the Forum only allowed wet humor?

That's it - the New Dimensions song. However, the song writing credit is to Bob Hafner, Hilder's partner. Early producers sometimes ended up with the song credits, I know, but since Lloyd & Greenspoon apparently usually got their credits, I think this one actually is by Hafner. I'm not sure exactly how old he was at the time, but out of his teens, surely. (I only knew it wasn't by the band because I'd just read something about it the other day!)

Hasn't anyone seen Rebel Without a Cause? Poor Buzz Gunderson, just when he and Jim Starke were about to get to know each other.
