January Birthdays 
As many of you may already be aware Brian Rogers (some of you may know him better as Spanky Twangler of The Penetrators) is in the fight of his life battling Stage IV Esophageal Cancer.
If this is the first you've heard of it, I apologize for presenting the information in such an informal format.
Right now, Brian is doing OK, relatively speaking. His spirit, faith, and attitude are amazing. He had his second chemo treatment this past Tuesday. You can get updates from the source here:

He and his famlily obviously have a long, hard, costly fight ahead of them. So to help with the costs, as well as show our love and support for him, there are a couple of benefits in the works.
The first is tomorrow night (Sat, Jan 31st) at The Star Bar.

Originally The Penetrators were going to play this show as part of their friend Robert Engel'st 50th birthday celebration. This show is now an informal benefit for Brian. It features many good friends of Brian's and The Penetrators and is a great night of music.
Music will start a little earlier than usual--around 9 pm--with The Holland Dutch kicking things off with their great power garage/pop. Next is Sonoramic Commando bringing their kick a$$ Honky Tonk. That'll lead into the wonderful western swing/country of Caroline and The Ramblers. Headlining is local rockabilly legends The Blacktop Rockets!
A more formal benefit is planned for March 26th and 27th also at The Star Bar. The band line-ups for this are currently in the works, but promises to be a fantastic couple of nights of music and love for Brian.
As we look forward to the March show, if anyone has any items appropriate for a fund-raising raffle that they are willing to donate, please let me know.
Also, if anyone has a clever "name" for the benefit please pass it along--to prevent it from just being "Spanktacular."
