Responding to what it was like playing with Miles Davis
When the record came out and he finally listened to it, he called me up said "Steve, I like the way you play the guitar. I like that rock-and-roll shit you play." Then he asked me to join his band. But Toto were leaving on tour the next day, so I had to turn him down.
Man the tour started the next day. Imagine how different the world would have been if he had said yes. This was one of those "How would Cuba have been different if Castro had made the St. Louis Cardinals as a young man..." moments. What it... What if...

I thought Toto was a bunch of session musicians. I don't remember them ever touring.
Hold the line.....

I had no idea Miles Davis played baseball. Was this before or after Bitches Brew?

For the love of God... Stop!
Even better - dont start! Horrible.
Clearly, Miles had a lucky escape from his momentary lapse of reason ...
These guys always use such a hideous sound too ... The bit where they murder the solo from alright now (which is a simple, loose, fairly clean and emotive piece of playing) says it all.
I'd rather eat my own leg than listen to Toto.
