Hi Martin,
Couldn't you have found a real artist to do your cover?

Welcome to SG101 TikiDog!
I'm stoked! "Dark side of the Beach", and "Get Cut by..." are
awesome CD's. The Martin Schmidt solo CD's are very cool, too.
I'll be ordering a copy of the new CD post haste.

Martin was kind as always and did send me a copy in advance. I can only say !recommended! for those of you who dig a vintage Fender Jaguar into a Twang Machine

OK, I should have added that I did the design for he CD. The cover is an homage to a jazz album--anybody recognize it? If you like the previous Razorblades and Mr. Smith you won't be disappointed. The sound may be a bit more open because they are a trio now. Definitely not trad surf, more in the direction of Frankie and the Pool Boys.

Thanks Ryan but that is not the answer.
Clue: Jazz drummer.
It's pretty much a dead copy, I didn't have to do much creatively.
Be sure to get your Razorblade patches at the show.

Crap Doug, now you've got me curious. Ok, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers?

You're both very close.
Anyway, I'm glad I got to acknowledge the source because there is no note about it in the liner notes. I'm listed as the designer but the credit goes to Martin who suggested it.

Lots of people have paid homage to the great work of Reid Miles over the years.

I just saw that one. Same idea. I guess I've been borrowing from him in the past without knowing it. He has a talent for making great images from unremarkable photos.

I thought I'd play along, and googled Blue Note images. Even with the few jazz drummers I can name off the top of my head I came up empty. BUT I saw a lot of cool (no pun) record graphics in the process----any number of which could be close.
Nice job Stormtiger on the homage. And oh yeah, I enjoyed the Razorblade clips too!
