My copy of "Release the Mosquitos!" by Atomic Mosquitos arrived yesterday from CD Baby. The album was released in '05, so this may be well-traveled ground to long-time members of SG101. However, I haven't had so much fun listening to an album in a long, long time and had to tell somebody.

IvanP posted a detailed review of the CD here. Hats off to the Atomic Mosquitos. If this is the sound of 21st Century Surf music, I like it.

definitely a good cd

"It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea

I feel really Bad, as I got one form Craig when he was out here for Buisness. There was no surf shows that night but we met up for dinner, and surf talk. And he gave me one, and I said I would do a review of it. Doh!!! Time gets away too fast.
Anyways here's a very brief review. I remember really liking the 1st cd of the Atomic Mosquitos. but it was a bit on the shadowsy/tame side.
Not this one. I guess they must have been seeing some other bands, or listening to some killer cd's, as they really stepped it up quite a few notches for this their 2nd cd. Like somebody else said if this is the path of modern surf, I'd be very happy with that. Kinda the perfect middle ground between trad. and progressive with killer songwriting, and musicianship.

Great job guys, a can't wait to hear what's next.
aren't yall playing in NY area soon?
