hi guys!
i am new to this forum and i think its a nice place. i play in a surfband and i bang out a lot of dick-dalish stuff on my mim classic 60 strat. and my strings brake like crazy. i just learned that dick himself uses graphtech stringsaver saddles. anyone uses them and has some experience?
thanks

I'm going to put a set of graphites on my guitar too. Maybe a graphite tree too. I don't have a problem breaking strings, though when using the tremolo I think it will help a lot.
I have one Strat blocked an its set up stays put so much nicer, and I think its quit a bit more sustain too. I just fell in love with the tremolo on my other one an can't come to grips with blocking it. So a lil assist with graphite it will be.

I've been using the Graph Tech saddles for a long time on one of my JM's and I think they sound good and help with string breakage - I just put a set of the TUSQ saddles (from the same company) on another JM and I think I like them better than the graphite ones - they don't cost much, give 'em a try

The graphtech savers are a blessing in 2 ways for me.
-
Less string breakage and keep my strat intune better. almost as good as my other guitars now. (it should be the other way round )
-
No nickel to blister the edge of my hand whilst muting. ( Nickel Allergy is hell when you teach guitar for a living )

hi guys,
i put graphtech stringsaver saddles and a steel tremoloblock in my 60 classic strat. what can i say? its a great improvement. the guitar sounds more twangy in the deeps, the highs have more sparkle and it sounds more like a strat. strange enough: the strings go through the steelblock only with some force. i guess i have to drill a little. and the arm from mim block does not fit.
arghhhh!!!! anyway: the sound is great and i hope my stringbraking hassles are over.

Yeah,I love the graphite saddles on my G&L Legacy. I am getting ready to purchase some for my Jag. Maybe I won't get as much string wander on the Jag with the notched saddle barrel as opposed to the threaded barrela that come stock.
