The OTHER band with the same name will split up.

"The Neptunes reportedly split
October 2, 2008 12:13 p.m. by Andrew Winistorfer
Celebully has reported that the Neptunes, the producing team of Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams, are breaking up. Apparently there has been a lot of animosity between the two (maybe because Pharrell is becoming an increasingly popular solo act?), and they have decided to work alone. How this will affect Hugo and Williams’ rockist side project N.E.R.D. has not been determined."

THe NEpTuNeS

Good news for my other band - N.E.R.D.S Very Happy

Latest surf project - Now That's What I Call SURF

Bad news for the Feral Williamses

Hahaha, nice.

So, my claim to Lil Wayne may hold!

Although Ronny & The Daytonas had been defunct since the 60's, we got a letter in the 90's from Ronny (Buck Wilkin) demanding us to change our name Daytonas to something else. He ended the letter by pointing out that there were other town names in Florida we could use Laughing

Alternatively

If you stay split up for too long - 6 other bands will take your name

I had a band in the 80s called Arctic Circles which released records from 1985 - 1987

There are several other bands on myspace now with the same, or almost the same name, e.g. Arctic Circle, DJ Arctic Circle, or Arctic Circles.

I did a myspace for my old band recently and so I think it's time I friended all the "other" Arctic Circles. Not to be nasty, but just to put the wind up 'em a bit. I think it will be fun!

If your band stays together long enough: eventually the band that you started will still be gigging even though none of the original members are in it.

So you think I can finally use the band name I used first back in the '60s; Lead Zeppoli

What day is Surf Rock's birthday? Looks like Surf Rock and I was born the same year. Maybe we are both Libras?

Hah, only us Jersey boys know about Zeppoli's. Gotta pass the paper bag test, if you can see through the bag, they're good Laughing

You could have used Deltona, not far from Daytona Beach.

We didn't choose to call us Daytonas because of Daytona being a town in Florida... It was just a name that we thought sounded cool at the time. If anything, it was more about the Ferrari Daytona and the Daytona 500 race.

You better watch out Ventures.

I also like to think that all early 60's fender equipment is happy to be playing surf music again. After all, its the music it was meant to play.
