Klas
Great to hear that they didn't disappoint as many reunions of 60's bands usually does.
I think part of their secret is that, as far as I know, they just stopped playing and didn't spend the 70s, 80s, and 90s playing in crap bands trying to "keep up with the times". They've been somewhat frozen in time except for the new bassist and drummer.

The Sonics are absolutely 100% my favourite band in the whole world.. I wish they'd come to Dublin.

Glad to hear it didn't suck. If they do decide to do this again, LA would be nice. With, say, a reformed Standells?

Oh, cool - not to sound all BTD-y, but I'd trade almost everyone on that list (except Sean Bonniwell and a few others) for a Sonics show.

why do I have a feeling that the show that Outsides listed is going to be one of those shows with a back up band, and the people come up to do 1 to 3 of their hits?

It looks mostly like an autograph/meet & greet kind of thing.

Ok, sorry. I didn't mean to derail this thread. Meet and greets are boring and even if bands play, they all seem to play "Mustang Sally" and the like and if I have to hear "Mustang Sally" one more time, I think I'll chew my arm off.
The Sonic's show from firsthand reports was as Ted reported. Also, a friend had proofs from the photo shoot of the first album (standing around the pool - Why don't men dress like that anymore?) and first gig and etc. etc. that I got to see.
A copy of the first album! (vinyl - but what did you expect?)
And a lot of first hand stories! Sorry for going on and on about this on a surf forum, but it really is - all related. Damn, I missed something awesome, but there are rumors of a Las Vegas show (Europe worked, but S.F. can't/won't pay enough) so Las Vegas - if it happens... I'm there. Of course, unless anyone just tells me to shut up. I'll keep you posted....
