This is a '65 Bandmaster that I have had since 1989. The date code on the tube chart is OJ (Nov. 65) The amp is in 7.5-8 of 10 condition cosmetically, with a few nicks to the tolex..no bare spots. It was last serviced in December of last year by Dave's Sound ( http://www.gti.net/junebug/dave/ ) with caps replaced as needed and all new tubes. The transformer was replaced before I bought it, and it does have the 3 prong grounded plug. The speakers are not original....I will be taking the back off and getting the speaker codes for anyone who wants them....(the speakers have aluminum dust covers and look like JBL's through the grill cloth) but are not Lansings
This is NOT a collectors amp....It's an amp for someone who plays and wants the original blackface tone. I've used it with both my Mosrite and Jazzmaster with a reverb unit and it duplicates the sounds that we've all heard on the original surf hits from the 60's.
Price is $800 plus actual packing and shipping costs. ( I will have UPS pack and ship the head and speaker cabinet so there are no liability issues in case od shipping damage)
For those of you who might like to re-cover and backdate the amp I will include a roll of smooth while tolex (shipped seperatly) that is big enough to do the head, speaker cabinet, and a reverb unit to match should you have one.
