Tone and playability are nowhere near a Mosrite. The only things on it that come close to a Mosrite is the body shape and the headstock. I've put M3 PUs in it and it had a decent setup. Clones are ok? In that case, here's mine and bandmate Maui's. I Ffnally finished them after just 2 years.
