looking for an out-of-print Chet Atkins album

I don't know if there are any Chet fans here, but I am trying to track down a Chet Atkins album called "Solo Sessions" it is a double-length album. Ebay came up dry, and there was supposedly 1 on amazon, but when I contacted the seller they said they no longer had it. If you have the album please drop me a PM, I just have a few questions to bug you about before I drive myself nuts trying to track it down. |

Thanks Ryan, that seems to be it.. Good price too, the amazon seller had it listed for double that. This store seems a bit low budget, but I'll take my chances. I just happen to be listening to Secret Samurai, before I looked into to read this thread, it must have been a calling from the surf gods. Hope all is well dude... Oh and post some new youtube clips of gigs if you can. |

Has anyone heard the Chet Atkins version of "Walk Don't Run"? The Ventures say that's where they got the idea for their version. When i was a teen my mom said if i learned her favorite Chet Atkins song she would buy me a new guitar. Although i play upside and backwards i tried so hard to learn that tune but i quickly realized i'm no Chet Atkins....she bought me a Silvertone from the Sears catalogue anyway! She also said if i got good grades in school that she would get me a set of drums and she did when my grades came in. The next semester my grades had dropped again and she sold them!! Yes, I have heard it, and there is a version on this cd I am ordering. If you go onto youtube and search "Chet Atkins Walk Don't Run" there will be at least one of his versions. Don't feel bad about not being able to play like Chet. I think you are in the majority my friend. |
