Just finished listening, very cool. Thanks Norm!

Klas, thanks for the info on the alternate titles.
As you know many of these hot rod tunes get re-titled
or re-released with a different band names so I went with
the title of the version I have, as in the J&D track.

Yeah I know, I just wanted to mention the title and group for the original issue of the recording. BTW, the Rally-Packs were a cool studio project of P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri, who often were involved as backing singers on Jan & Dean recording sessions, so there's probably the connection.

Records are meant to be played, damn it! However, I forgive you in this case Wink since many of the budget label cash-in hot rod albums weren't that great music wise. (Looks like Norm only played something from 9 of the 35 albums displayed in his photo).

Indeed, The Rally Packs is essentially Sloan and Berri's Fantastic Baggys. Sloan and Berry were also songwriters for Jan & Dean. Another interesting tidbit is the writer of "Bucket Seats" aka "Old Ladies Seldom Powershift" is Don Altfeld who co-wrote "Little Old Lady from Pasedana" with Roger Christian. Apparently he was also a med school friend of Jan Berry.

Not exactly and no. I should reword "someone" to "anyone." The "gift" was longer than a drop.

Just want to thank Onslow Beach for the positive comment about our little twangfest cover of "White Wedding"...we actually did play it at a big wedding party last weekend, and it went over very well (the newlyweds paid us more than they had originally agreed to...although I can't say that the cover of that song was the only reason!)
And, major thanks, as always, to THE MAN himself, Whore-Hay, for playing the tune on his superfine broadcast.
