I really dug the Del Rays tune! Very Jack Nitsche sounding!!
Never heard of them before?
Gives me yet another cool band to look forward to at TO '09!
Thanks for the kind words, Skeeter. The Del Reys are Tony Marsico's surf/garage band, featuring Ric Monck & Pete Phillips, all of whom have been backing up Matthew Sweet for ages. Besides the party-crashing BTD, I loved the promo for Thee Swank Bastards.
I've listened to that podcast a couple of times now and every time I do, I get the urge to wear a fez and have some cocktails.
Doesn't Shag have some cool Shriner paintings in that theme?
Awesome! I'm a huge fan of Shag's work and that whole Googie architecture scene.
