The Surfites manage to be serious about the music without sacrificing the fun. To my mind, no one today gets more out of simple melodies since the first wave than this band. They seem to understand as not every band does, that it's all about the sound and imaginative arrangements, not necessarily complexity.
You are spot on about how we see things! Thanks for the very nice review!
And thanks everyone else for your kind comments! ![Very Happy Very Happy](/media/smiley/images/icon_biggrin.gif)

wow so cool Klas,
reminds me of the old Disneyland Mission to the Moon, and Mission to Mars rides.
I love all that 50's and 60's space stuff.
its old yet futuristic.
very cool.

I've been digging this one a lot lately. "Escapades in Space" has most of what makes a guitar instrumental record really enjoyable to me - great melodies, performance, production, tone and fuzz! Nice work, guys.

+1 to what Kyle said. Klas, the album is amazing. I've listened to it several times now, and I enjoy it more and more each time. Keep up the great work.

Thanks everyone! However, we hope people buy our albums because they like them and not because of supporting a fellow surf band. It would help in keeping the genre healthier for the future ![Very Happy Very Happy](/media/smiley/images/icon_biggrin.gif)

Last night I was driving past LAX with all the colored columns , just as Danger Ahead was ending a jet screamed by in front of me. Cool! That one should be a theme for a private eye or spy TV show. My favorite is Around the Galaxy, I think it is a perfect song, nice melody and interesting phrasing, really cool bass. Can't get it out of my head. Well done.

Thanks, that is one of my favorites from the album as well and was written by my brother Jack.
I just noticed that Reverb Central has posted a nice review of Escapades in Space. Click "Reviews" on the left and then scroll down to The Surfites in the right column.
Convenient short sound samples for the entire album can be found here. Just hit the "Preview all" button.
And go here to see what other people have to say about the Surfites in general (50,000,000 fans can't be wrong).

I had a hard time counting all the comments and in the end just settled for an approximation. Seems I got pretty close though!
