Cool info and thanks for sharing your views. Actually I'm very happy with my 1x12" Carr Rambler that probably sound as clean as you can get ;-).
I just like the idea of having a build-in reverb with dweel, mix and tone. Superb idea! But if the rest of the package can't produce a sound that I'd like, then it of course is a no-go.
I'll see if I can find one to check out.

I like the look of the transition style white knobs, and it has all of the potential "bells & whistles" like Reverb modeled from the '63 Reverb era.
My issue and this is with any of Fender amps is with the "FAT" switch. I'm sorry if folks get torked but what is that?
Seriously, If I want "FAT" I either turn 'em way up, or jam an overdrive or fuzz. Actually, Jamming a good Compressor will push the amp or a Boost pedal.
It just seems like they had a nice package geared towards the professional and then added a switch for the nonprofessional.
Anyone buying an amp in this price point can get "FAT" without a switch. And someone should be beaten without mercy for calling it "FAT". I'm surprised they didn't call it "PHAT", thats how cheesey I think it is.
disclaimer: (BTW: this is all total sarcasm, and I am enjoying having fun with it. In no way, am I targeting anyone who likes FAT, is FAT, or wants to be FAT.)

I asked a tech that worked on my Dual Professional a few years ago about the Fat switch and what exactly it does. I was very surprised when he said it's simply a volume boost of some 2 or 3 dbs. It has no EQ effect! I agree it's pretty useless. I keep both Fat switches off on my Dual Pro.
