Have I mentioned enough times yet how much I love this band? Well here I go again. THEY RULE! 14 year old guitarist Michael Lloyd gives Dick Dale a run for his money! This teenage wonderkind went on to be a big time record producer and still works to this day!

Brian's lament got me to thinking that I had not read any of the threads about this band. They were totally unknown to me. My loss. And too bad there are so few opportunities to hear their music today. Our loss.
I hope someone can figure out how to reissue their recordings. Or did I miss this too?

Sundazed "Best Of" is currently $3.99 in their Garage Sale. Shipping ~$4 and change. For less than $9, it can be yours!

I'm playing it now. Incredible. The live tracks impress me most because of the sheer energy and joy of the band, but also the audience that obviously feeds off the energy of the kids as they play. So raw and cool. Then the audience takes that enthusiasm and feeds it back to the group. It's the way it was, the way it should have stayed. Just terrific!

BTW, I just visited amazon, where I ordered this--and you know how they offer "suggestions" based on your purchases with them? Well here is one, but it's kind of strange:
That's Michael and Jimmy from the same cover shoot for the New Dimensions album. So what do they have to do with the Sentinals? Or am I missing some connection here . .
===
I think this "cover shoot" is a family vacation to Honolulu. Diamond Head in the background. Jimmy and Michael plus maybe one's mother and two unidentified older girls. There's a whole series of shots. Somehow they got suggested and offered as cover art and they ended up being used with the Sentinals, too. This was the kind of fast play between promoters and record companies that the Surfaris eventually litigated into money.
They mention the vacation in the liner notes to the reissue CD. I forget whose family trip it was, but one of the two boys accompanied the other's family.
You can find other pictures of the location from that period that have nothing to do with this "surf album series." I don't know the name of the beach front hotel off the top of my head, but it and the catamarans were sort of a landmark. Maybe the family stayed there.

Are there any more pics from that "vacation" on line?
