Special thanks to DUSTY WATSON for putting together a very special event!!
DAVIE ALLAN & THE ARROWS, featuring DUSTY on drums, and SAM BOLLE on bass, will be performing at the JUKE JOINT in ANAHEIM on Friday evening, June 13th
www.myspace.com/thejukejoint
The full address is: 735 N Anaheim Blvd, Anaheim, CA 92805
The phone number is: (714) 778-1397
The reason this event is "special" is because it is in honor of the new DAVIE ALLAN & THE ARROWS album, 'Moving Right Along', being released on SPINOUT/LIFEGUARD RECORDS
Here's the cover of the CD:
Pretty soon the album will be for sale through LIFEGUARD RECORDS, as well as via SPINOUT RECORDS, and of course, from DAVIE ALLAN personally
I expect to have my CDs in hand next week, and will post in this thread and the LIFEGUARD RECORDS thread in SG101 the specifics of how you can go about purchasing this amazing fuzz fest recording
Oh yeah, I booked flights, I mean.....how could I miss this??
Hope others in this forum will come out for the party/show!!

any Idea who else might be on the Bill for this.
would like to see the Tequila worms, and Outterwave.
Maybe Hot Rod Trio (rockabilly band) to round it out.
or Thee Spectors, Garage band that plays there alot.

p.s. I will have the next night, JUNE 14, free....if anyone knows of anything going on, please post it here or shoot me an e/mail, schizofredric@yahoo.com. Thx a lot. Maybe some bands want to throw something together somewhere on 6/14 in the LA/LONG BEACH/HUNTINGTON BEACH/SANTA MONICA/MARINA DEL REY area?? Happy to emcee, if needed.

The Next Day in the Afternoon, Slacktone is supposed to be playing at Safari Sams in Hollywood. with a Garage band around 1 pm.
Later that evening, Hot Rod Trio, ( a really good rockabilly band) is playing at a Harly Dealership in Glendale.
Or I think that Agent Orange is playing somewhere in So. Cal.

I called DAVE earlier from THE PURPLE ORCHID to see if he has anything booked for June 14th, and we spoke briefly, and assured me he will call me back tomorrow.
if it is OPEN, he said he would be happy to work with me, maybe get 2 surf-beat instro bands for the night?
keep you all posted
p.s. he had a noisy big crowd scene going on when I called, which is really great for a Monday night, right? I guess that joint is jumpin', huh?

Unsteady Freddie...I initially set things up for the surf bands to play for Dave & Rebecca at the Purple Orchid so be sure to mention my name...if you have any problems let me know....It is a small venue with an impossible stage but is the hottest spot for surf music in a Tiki Bar these days so you should have a good turn out...Keep us posted...
See you at the Juke Joint....Linda xo

Linda, I love that place. Was there when Mister Neutron played there last year. Stopped by actually this past SUNDAY night to show it off to Blue StingRaye. Was hoping to get Dave's interest in doing something June 14 (the night after DAVIE ALLAN) but he seemed to think he had something booked (although he did not have his bands list with him at the time). Will probably swing by again when I come thru in a couple of weeks (probably drop in on June 14). Let me know if you think you might be at either the DAVIE ALLAN show, or the SLACKTONE show on SAT JUNE 14 (afternoon), or maybe meet up with me at THE PURPLE ORCHID on June 14 in the evening.

Hey Freddie,
Little history note...the Huntington Beach Surf Museum is actually located in the building where the original Safari Sam's was back in the old punk rock days of 1978 and hosted The Minutemen, Social Distortion, and many others. If you look at the history page of the new Safari's Sam's you can see the entrance you will recognize from what is now the HB surf museum:

I plan on being at this. I booked the Vengents last minute recently & they struck much ass with the foot. The CD doesn't even come close.

slight show report.
The Vengents were a really good high energy soul, garage band.
and the Bass player Vinny, used to be Scotty from the BoneSharks from about 10 years ago. I wanna see these guys again.
The Volcanics absolutely ripped it up.
I have always been a big fan of their surf/frat vibe, even the vocals.
and there were on their game Fri nite. and played 1 or 2 new songs.
They were so loud, but so good, prob the best I have ever seen them.
look for their new cd soon.
And then Davie Allan,
wow man that guy rocks for an older guy.
and I think that Sam Bolle and Dusty from Slacktone are the perfect back up band for him., they push him and raise him to a new level.
lots of extended jams and solos. and the crowd was huge.
and they ate it up big time.
great show all around.
good work Freddie,
and the guy from The Vengents who put it together.

This was a great show & I had a blast. Dusty & Sam really turned it on for Davie. I'd never seen the Volcanics before, but they were pretty high energy. I originally planned on seeing this show for the Vengents alone, so I was not disappointed.
Great to meet you too Unsteady Eddie! I only saw Big Sandy for about 20 seconds.
