Am I nuts to consider getting one of these things? Sacreligous?

Not only are they expensive, they have a circuit board attached to it.

My guitar tech and I were discussing tonal options on my new Jazzmaster, and he pulled one of these out and exclaimed that they are simply amazing. It replaces the stock tone pot, instead of turning freely, it has 14 positions, each with it's own capacitor/resistor combination. End result being lots of tone options without losing the mids.

Any thoughts?
