Permalink Baritone Jazzmaster?

New Topic

Honestly, for as much as I'd spend in parts, to build a baritone guitar (my original plan was for a repro '72 Telecaster Deluxe body/baritone scale Stratocaster neck/TV Jones Magnatron p'ups), I'd probably be better off just saving that money toward buying a Gibson Les Paul Studio Baritone. But, an LP of any "flavor" just ain't quite a surf guitar kinda guitar. With that in mind, I figure why not a baritone Jazzmaster...repro Jazzmaster body/baritone scale Stratocaster neck/some "flavor" of P-90s suitable for surf music?

Perhaps if I wait till I can buy a real Jazzmaster, then build a baritone Jazzmaster, I'd be able to match the body for the baritone to the Fender. There's also that I need to get myself over my current bout of G.A.S., for a bit, and concentrate on obtaining some recording equipment, so I can actually start committing things to disc. At this point, I can see myself buying a Fender Stratocaster way before going for a Jazzmaster, seeing as how my only single coil guitar, so far, is a Fender Telecaster. If anything, there's still always the possibility that I'd go for a Fender Jaguar Bass VI, but for now I'll keep that as my last option for a baritone.
