Welcome aboard jmakinwaves. Being new here you might not know where the search is. When you go on to the forums page, it's located along the top of the page along with FAQ, usergroups, profile etc... While there's almost no such thing as a dumb question, there is a lot of information already here and you can save time of waiting for responses by perusing the archives. Thank for the direction. In the future I will look harder for the threads... By the way, today I purchased a VK with a single 15" JBL ML speaker installed in what I think is a modified supersonic cabinet. I found the amp a couple of months ago while I was in Nashville and have been thinking about it ever since. It should be a perfect complement with my vintage D-130F and 64' tank. It will arrive this Friday... Is any one using a JBL ML 15? I have been playing a Prosonic through a D-130f cab and tank for the past two years; and hope the VK will be at least a small step up. Does any one out there have a VK with mods? Later... —24 hours in a day |

my vk is modded to fix the tremolo tick. i'm also running a 6k6gt in the reverb section. lastly, i'm using a closed back 15" cabinet with a weber vintage series 15". the perfect type of speaker to go with the 3x10s. |

i've rented a vk this month and i'd like to kick it out the back of the van. i really miss my poor showman who is still awaiting tubes from the "big" store... I was impressed with the VK's blues tone, but i don't play in a blues band, the one i rented is a blonde brownface style. It's not modded, and can't handle clean past 3 1/2. That's the killer. I've never had to mic anything but I have one more gig left untill i return it and rent a twin And no bass response whatsoever. A 15" speaker might help, but i don't know. This one is listed for sale used at 1800 CA, my amp only cost me 900 bucks..... but it's in the shop. Damn tube amps...... —www.myspace.com/vondrats |
