Wow!!!
Ivan, the new stuff sounds soooo good! I especially like the last tune on the sample. Killer stuff. Can't wait to hear it all the way through. Congrats!
Also, did everybody get new guitars? Love the matching color.
And the artwork is killer! Very rainbow-esque
Great work Ferenc!

Please be kind and save the mp3 to your hard drive and don't load it over and over from the site. We aren't sure of the impact of the Guitar Player thing is going to be. Save our precious bandwidth. Thanks!

A very nice teaser. I'm looking forward to this release. This is definitely a great year for surf!
Now all we need is a Pollo Del Mar release...

Excellent art work, excellent tunes, like totally excellent!
Carpe Noctem - To pluck by night - interesting title choice Ivan, if I have the translation right.

I hate to mirror what everyone else is saying, but what else can be said?
Both the artwork and sample are amazing. Looking forward to getting it to look and listen to it.

I know next to nothing about latin, but carpe diem is usually translated as seize the day, so I would guess carpe noctem to mean seize the night.

Holy crap!!! I never should have looked at this thread. Knowing that this album is coming out soon will be a huge distraction in the back of my head for the next couple months. I can't wait.

Thanks, Ryan, and thanks to everybody else! We really appreciate your enthusiasm and compliments.

Thanks again! It's my trusty fiesta red Strat (ex-Strat-Plus - almost nothing 'plus' left of it) which I've had for 18 years and played in the Space Cossacks. I love that guitar. The Strat Patrick is holding is actually my dad's - we borrowed it for the photo session. And the J-bass is Todd's recent acquisition.
And the artwork is killer! Very rainbow-esque
Damn, Ryan, you always know the exactly right thing to say!
Rainbow RJD-era, not JLT-era, right?
Great work Ferenc!
Here, here!
And yes, Spud, Seize the Night!
Thanks again, everybody, I'm very glad you're enjoying the samples.

Ahh Ok. In the picture it looked a tad bit more orange, so I thought it was a different guitar. I also dig the band photo. Nice contemporary look.

Oh most definitely! Rainbow Rising immediately came to mind

Fiesta Red is an interesting and highly variable combination of red, pink and orange. We were comparing our three guitars during the photo shoot and each color was slightly different. Among the Shadows aficionados, fiesta red Fenders are a big deal and there's a lot of discussion about what constitutes the 'correct' shade of fiesta red. Most of the British guys tend to think of fiesta red more in terms of a pink hue, but to me it's always seemed more orangeish. Anyway, the point being that depending on the light, yes, it can come off very orangeish. And the color on my Strat is definitely more on the orangeish side, anyway.
I also dig the band photo. Nice contemporary look.
Thank you. The Bambi Molesters and the Phantom Four are our models in this regard. I'm a bit tired of the retro look, though many bands do it well, and more power to them - I'd definitely hate that part of surf music to go away. But as for us we're more interested in being a band of the present - and the future - than the past.

You know, I think that was completely a coincidence. Ferenc came up with the whole concept, and I don't think he puts much stock in Rainbow. And honestly, before you mentioned it, it hadn't even occured to me. But now I'm diggin' it.

When I got the e-mail announcing this I got really geeky because you guys are using Latin for the title. One of our new songs is Caveat Auditor. Both are kind of plays on famous Latin saying.
As for Fiesta Red, the orange hue almost has to be the correct color. Didn't the color come from Fiesta ware?
Here is a link to an article on the color

There is an interesting theory here regarding the "pink" Fiesta Red color. It states that there is evidence that British music stores would sometimes refinish their sunburst Strats to Fiesta to meet the demand for that color due to the popularity of the Shadows. Their approximation of the the color was more pink than the Fender version. I don't know. Like Ivan says, there are so many variables in play. They fade to all sorts of shades. I think that's why we get descriptions like "coral pink", or "salmon"--which likely never existed as Fender colors, but are just faded Fiesta Red guitars.

Anyway . . . more to the subject at hand---The Madeira!!
Those clips are amazing and really serve to whet the appetite for more! I'll be first in line for a copy when it's released. Those samples alone show a lot of range. And of course, few others play with that sort to finesse. Love the hand percussion too. That Dane is really too much!
Artwork is superb! Exotic with Middle Eastern overtones. Like the music. Two (er . . . four!) thumbs up!
