I told him that is was also in the show announcements area.
he didn't know about that area.

Just wondering how many people go to the show announcements area?

for the record, I check in here all the time

1)to see if anyone adds anything to my announcements

2)to learn of surf shows around the world, as I am always looking to make a journey somewhere I have never been -- with surf music built in for my evenings; I find it's usually a great combination -- sightseeing, nature in the day, and reverb at night -- it's almost like taking 2 vacations in 1

But I have talked to at least 10 people that didn't know about that area.
and wondered why there was no more show announcements in the general discussion area.
also I miss all the pics of the shows that used to follow after.

Pics can still be posted in threads regardless of where the forum is.

Look, several people asked me to put show announcements in a separate forum. It was said that it was too hard to find upcoming shows (despite the fact that we have a calendar). They wanted them all in one place. Other people didn't like seeing show announcements in the general discussion area. So as an experiment I created the show announcement forum. You have told me repeatedly through emails and PM's that you did not like this idea. And now you post here :roll:. I really don't give a crap, I'm just trying to give my users what they want. Does anyone else have an opinion?

The Show Announcements forum is the right way to do it. If people don't know about it, they're idiots. Or just not interested in going to shows.

Hey its cake for me to find it there.
I have no problem going there and finding stuff.
doesn't bother me one bit, as a member of the Forum.

But also I am not lying about people telling me that they did not know about the separate area.
how they don't see it is beyond me, and really twists my mind how it couldbe missed.

just relaying what I've been told.

not saying that it should be changed either,
maybe moved up to under General Discussion?
