I need some new tunes.

Okay, here's the rules:

  1. only post one band.
  2. can't be your band.
  3. include only one album by the artist.
  4. don't repeat anyone elses exact choices
  5. no dick dale

INSECT SURFERS -- REVERB SUN

_(Maybe bending the rules of this particular list, but....Let's hear it for the EDIT feature! Wooohoo!) _

I'm gonna edit mine to the first album that got me into surf & instro music:
Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, Savvy Show Stoppers, without whom I'd still be a mediocre metal shredder, as opposed to a mediocre, mostly-surf guitarist.

Just one?

The Surf Coasters - Surfdelic

-Warren

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

The Merman, Live at the Haunted House

Jeff(bigtikidude)

I can't do just one...

I can't do just one...

No kidding--even picking one apiece from the first, second and third waves is too hard. I ended up flipping a coin.

Mermen, "Food for Other Fish." This gets repeated play on my iPod.

The Atlantics "Now It's Stomping Time"

Very Happy

It's hard to pick, and it's kinda dumb to pick just one, but I know otherwise everyone would have like 10 choices apiece.

There were many, many more "classic" artists I could list, but I just went with the record I listened to the most.

The Squares - Teenage Surf Madness

The Mystery Men?
El Capitan and The Reluctant Sadists
SSS Agent #31

Was this supposed to be a favorite album ever or just mention a good one that most people don't think of, or talk about much.
I mean I wouldn't say this is one of my top 10 favs, but was listenign to it, when I posted, and it is good.
I say people should also read the Desert Island discs thread, or what ever it's called. they asked for 5 I put 10 5 new and 5 old.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

p.s Butch what was your Pic.?
I couldn't see the picture you posted

Jeff(bigtikidude)

i always like the blue hawaiian's sway, quiet surf is a phenominal cover

This month it has been Jerry Cole and the Spacemen "Outer Limits". I've been moving and was packing my lps when I rediscovered it. Music to move by.

Well I guess I can't take this too seriously, so I can do just one with the following disclaimer: this changes about weekly. And given that I am still reeling from the Chicago show last month, my current answer is:

The Volcanos - Surf Quake

Most recently:

Bomboras - Head Shrinkin' Fun

Laika & The Cosmonauts - Instruments of Terror

Science friction burns my fingers.

I'm currently listening to
man or astroman "Live Transmissions From Uranus"

Just one huh?

Guess I'd have to say:

Laika and the Bambi Satan Space Insect Nightriders on a Shadowy Planet Laughing

Paul
Atomic Mosquitos
Bug music for bug people is here!
Killers from Space

Oooh Oooh...I change mine to that too.
