This is probably nearer the UK surf list past & present - excluding Shadows wannabes and vocal bands. Even then most tend to be everything BUT authentic surf sound.

Aqua Vista
Arousers
Charles Napiers
Las Patatas Bravas
Palookaville
Simon Jones/Space Agency/Vibrasonic
Los Fantasticos
Sir Bald Diddley & His Right Honourable Big Wigs
Surf Creatures
Surfin Gorillas
Surfrats
Y Niwl
the Thurston Lava Tube
Beach Coma
Bikini Beach Band
Dead Man's Curve
The Interceptors
Los Nachos
Louie and the Louies
Las Patatas Bravas
The Mantawrays
Mustard Allegro
Preston Pfanz & the Seaton Sands
The Twin Fins
The Waterboarders
Plantagenet 3
The Pashuns
The Squadron Leaders
The Special Agents
The Sacrificials

Crumble, not being nit picky, but:
I sent yer list to a English friend of mine, and he said good list,
but
You missed a few good ones, the Dakotas were probably the closest to authentic surf (Cruel Sea), there are some more I am missing, but my head hurts right now. The surfin gorrillas were more swedish than english, but I would include them, the guitarist was called Clive (can't be many Swedes called Clive!!). Preston Pfanz is/are Scottish, but you did say UK, so I suppose we will let them in!:

The Dakotas
The flames
The Ghostriders
Thw Nukes
The Surfin' Lungs

Jeff(btd)

Clive is most definitely English, although I believe it is true that he has had some Swedish connection in the past. The Surfin' Gorillas are based on the south coast of England, according to their MySpace site.

We could add The Vicars of Twiddly and Bikini Island.

Much as I like them, Las Patatas Bravas appear twice.

The Bikini Beach band are a Beach Boys tribute act.

Los Fantasticos

The Surfin' Gorillas do rockabilly & vocal but when they play surf it really is surf music that's for sure.

Dakotas (as in Billy J Kramer?) I'm not sure they were a instrumental band as such were they? Just a few numbers which surf'd up nicely. I stand to be corrected though.

The Surfin Lungs (Vocal band) Oh no! That's Lorenzo, Django AND Big Tiki Dude telling me this band is surf music. It's like Surfin' Lungs - The Nebulas, no matter how you try you can't tell the difference can you!

The Lungs play great surf instrumentals, though, as you may see on March 5th, if you make it down to Brighton!

Los Fantasticos

Ha! not missing a chance of a plug there! Nooo i won't be there but hope you all have a great time.
G-i-r-l-s -G-o- W-i-l-d... heh heh!

We should also mention The Sundae Kups and The Exterminators whilsst on the subject of UK instrumental surf bands.

Ummm, I have a cd of them doing all instros.
and I know there are a few others of the same type of stuff,
that I don't have.
their shtick is they play instro versions of 70's and 80s
punk and New Wave songs

If they play Beach Boys songs live I didn't know that,
but Their cds are all instro.

I checked The Bikini Beach Bands mespace before entering them on the list. I wouldn't have added them if they used vocals predominantly.
This youtube confirms them as instruMENTAL and damn good they are too! GREAT!

I would add The Blue Mambas who play some great Link Wray style instros as well as some vocal tunes. Check out 'Zulu' their cover of the John Barry film theme on YouTube. Saw them on Saturday...

You're quite right; I was thinking of The Brighton Beach Boys. It must be a sign of age, because otherwise I would have remembered that we played with the Bikini Beach Band and John and the Nightriders in Dead Man's Curve.
Doh!

Los Fantasticos

The Vicars Of Twiddly were basically set up by a couple of Ex-Arousers and the keyboard player of the JB5, all ghastly ones/bomboras/satan's Pilgrims fans so that we could introduce the people of good old Blighty Britain to the great american revival bands of the 90s--- done loads of gigs, but hopefully going to do an album this year!!!

My favourite Euro bands are Indra and Move It (shadows/Los Straitjackets covers band), Los Jets (Spain), Bikini Beach Band, Blue Mambas, Thurston Lava Tube
