There is a history lesson right in the videos. For all of those in parts of this country and the world that think you know how young adults dressed back in the early 60's here in California, just watch these videos. For those of you who donât think white levis were a hit check out all the Illusions videos. The 'V' neck Alpaca sweaters and button down shirt collars were very popular even worn with a very skinny black tie. Not everyone wore high-top tennis shoes. Most wore low top leather shoes with semi pointed toes. Man o'man just look at those hair do's! Ahhh the memories. ah heck... surfs up!! Joel |

Great great great video. I remembered that The Illusions package for Gee-Dee Music included the most awesome collection of live pictures. And all of a sudden I see the cover I designed way back for the Gee-Dee CD, than you! I love historical stuff done this way! Iâm sorry this is taking the thread OT a bit. But let me reply. Gee-Dee was from 1993 (or early 1994) until some years ago a Hamburg label for CD releases of current rockabilly and surf and re-issues of vintage recordings. It was owned by Gerd Dietrich. Gerd proved a great hand to make good music available. Gee-Dee was his way of working with something he loved. He had left a major label before starting Gee-Dee Music. My bandâs debut album was the first new stuff to be released by Gerd. Somehow he had gotten the LP version of Cool Surfinâ and decided he wanted to release the CD of it. After that he did great many releases, and I often designed the packages. In retrospect, being a more seasoned designer now, I should have taken as much time into each project as possible, and try to ignore Gerd's hurry-ups and the always short budgets.
