And last, you must check how will you mount the pan!? Horizontal or vertical? This is critical to have the best results.

Is it really that critical? I've seen that at least some (all?) of the Fender reissues use a "B" pan yet they are mounted horizontal just like the vintage ones that use the "C". Question

The "B" pans are much less expensive and easier to find.

Yes, it is a little. But, about the "B" and "C" pans, I believe that they're identical! The "B" one is better to mount it vertical with the connectors up! If anyone can post a picture of the inside of a "C" pan.... Rolling Eyes I will post a "B" one!
If the coils have the same position then they're identical!
