Aloha! Just found this site today. Sometimes it seems like I am the only one on the planet that is into surf music. Glad to see I'm not. I have been playing guitar for the last year or so. Learned Pipeline, Apache, Walk Don't Run. My main inspiration for wanting to play is The Ventures. Discovered The Shadows last year. Also into AC/DC, KISS, Ted Nugent, Hendrix, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper. I read several giutar magazines: Total Guitar, Guitar Techniques, and Guitar World. Wish one or more of them would do a surf rock issue. I live in Monroe, Georgia, a small town east of Atlanta. Just wondering if there is anyone else from Monroe on here. Been considering hosting informal jam sessions if I can find some other players. I am self-taught with a lot still to learn, but I love to play.
Keep rockin!

Hey Rip-Tide, I live in Covington. I promise you that's as close as you're going to get to Monroe.

Hey Rip Tide. I'm late getting to it, but welcome!! I'm in Atlanta, and it's worth the drive when stuff goes on!
Welcome to the site. I'm pretty new on here as well, but it seems a great place to chew the fat and toss around some ideas!! Keep an ear open for goings on in town. I know El Capitan & Thee Scallywags are playing at Lenny's in Atlanta Feb 2.
