I also like to think that all early 60's fender equipment is happy to be playing surf music again. After all, its the music it was meant to play.

I wish I was lefty, I think Strats look cooler lefty, I have a weird habit of using lefty Strats flipped over, the opposite of what Dick did, they look cooler that way IMO. You guys noticed Dick had his guitar refinished at some point? It was Arctic White, but it's now Chartreuse.

Chartreuse? It's gold sparkle.

GuitarCenter said chartreuse, you might be right, just showing why I said that.

Well, chartreuse to me is kind of a green yellow. I don't see much green in the Beast.

There appears to be a smidgen of green in that gold sparkle. Chartreuse is not an accurate description of that color, however.

Fender calls it Charteuse Sparkle. http://www.fender.com/customshop/instruments/view_specs.php?full_partno=0106100&name=Dick+Dale+Signature+Stratocaster%26reg%3B

I dont think either ' arctic white' or ' chartreuse' were around at the time Dick refinshed that guitar. (or had it done). I also seriously doubt he'd opted for a clolor called ' chartreuse' as it sounds way to much like a trashy lapdancer's stage name.

Chartreuse was a popular color in the early '60s.

Here's me three years ago and about 25 pounds heavier at an open jam in Roselle, IL. I must have been in "The Zone", as I appear to have my eyes closed.
