Here are the dates for our California tour in July (one more remains to be nailed down):
Fr 21 - Whistlestop Bar, San Diego (w/ the Sand Devils)
Sa 22- The Pitcher House, Hermosa Beach (w/ Insect Surfers & Slacktone)
Su 23- Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum (w/ the Glasgow Tiki Shakers)
We 26 â Baja Cantina, Playa Del Rey
Th 27 - Lava Lounge, LA (w/ Slacktone)
Fr 28 - TBA
Sa 29- Nevada City (w/ the Pyronauts)
Su 30 â Hotel Utah, SF (w/ Pollo Del Mar & Slacktone)
We're very excited about this tour and really looking forward to it. It'll be a great time for sure! And we'll be sharing stages with some amazing bands, whom we thank from the bottom of our hearts for helping us line up these shows. A very special thanks goes to Ferenc who is behind most of these shows in one way or another - what a guy!! Truly a prince among men, and a tireless (really - when does he find the time to sleep???) supporter of surf music. We are forever in your debt, my friend! We hope we can get you out here to the Midwest some time...
Finally, I should mention that this tour will see the release of our new CD-EP called "Ruins" on Double Crown Records. It'll be an all-covers collection:
- The Victor (Dick Dale)
- Dilmohammed (The Treble Spankers)
- Almoraima (Paco De Lucia)
- Intruder #1 (The Surf Coasters)
- Intruder (ditto)
These songs were recorded during the "Sandstorm" album sessions, but only recently mixed and are currently getting mastered. We hope you'll enjoy the CD (also due to the fantastic artwork done again by Ferenc!).
We are looking forward to meeting (or seeing again) many of you Californians in person!

Can't wait Can't wait Can't wait..... Not that it really matters but the Baja Cantina is in Marina Del Rey, right next to the Venice canals. Playa Del Rey is on the other side of the Harbor. I just may go to every show.. Hope that Fri Show in ??? comes thru.

I've done road trips to Fresno for 2 ska shows. 2 for 2 in the kick ass fun time column. Fresno rocks.

If I ditch class on the 27th I can catch four of them. I want to make it to three as an absolute minimum.

I think you have to see a surf show in Fresno at least once in a lifetime! And Big Tiki Dude is way over due! Seriously we have had some really great shows here! I would love to pack Tokyo Garden to the rafters, the brothers who own the place bumped a very profitable karyoke night to have the show, they usually have live music every other night.
The owners, Tommy and Toshi are big surf fans from Hirosima... Tokyo Garden is a Japanese restraunt that is basically unchanged from the 50's complete with a little tiki hut that encloses the bar. they have however added some godzillas and a surfboard to it....
Any how, if ya'll can come make the show! I might even through a pre-show barbeque with homebrewed beer!

Tom,
First off, I'm not sure If I can make any of the Nor. Cal. shows at this time. I would love to be able to say no prob. and just go.
But time and money are a big factor.
If I do make the trip up. would it be possible to crash at your pad?
Hell I'll even put up a tent in a back yard if possible.

With any luck, the bum arrested last Sunday at the Pier show will be out on bail in time for the Maderia Huntington Beach Surf Museum show.

Thanks, Eric, and it would be great to see you at a show - I hope it happens! Now, when do we do that Nebulas/Madeira West Coast tour we talked about? Let's start the planning!

Ah yes, Eric - Nebulas live - my ears are still ringing from last time, what, a year and half ago?
from what I understand, Gert is moving away from surf and into more profitable genres - if you look on his site and see what kind of equipment he has for touring bands, the BF showmans have gone, it's SF twins and one SF showman reverb now. that should be a clue. you guys still in contact with him?
